What to expect?

Get your tickets to visit Los Haitises National Park with Caves, Mangroves and San Lorenzo Bay after a two-hour hike through the humid forest of Los Haitises National Park.

Los Haitises National Park from Sabana de la Mar or Caño Hondo hotels with Local guides. The trip begins at the main port of Los Haitises National Park. This trip begins at 10:00 am with a local tour guide who knows the original story about the magnificent National Park.

Then we start from the main port of Los Haitises National Park, called Caño Hondo (Deep Creek) in a BOAT with life jackets. We will enjoy the red mangrove forest until we reach San Lorenzo Bay. Small bay in Samaná Bay. And here we go! The first thing you can see is the huge collection of mountain limestone island called Mogotes. Above them more than 700 species of plants and many wetland birds flying around. Then visiting caves with pictographs of our indigenous communities from 750 years ago.

Through the mangroves and land in the open San Lorenzo Bay, from where you can photograph the rugged forest landscape. Look out into the water to see manatees, crustaceans and dolphins.

En su idioma, «Haitises» se traduce en tierras altas o colinas, una referencia a las empinadas formaciones geológicas de la costa con calizas. Aventúrate en el parque para explorar cuevas como la Cueva de la Arena y la Cueva de la Línea. Las cuevas en la reserva fueron utilizadas como refugio por los indios taínos y, más adelante, por los piratas escondidos. Busque dibujos de indios que decoran algunas de las paredes. Después de visitar el Parque Nacional Los Haitises, iremos al bosque húmedo para caminar 2 horas y regresar al lugar donde comenzó nuestro viaje.

Hotel pickup

Hotel pickup is offered if you are located at Paraiso Caño Hondo or Altos Caño Hondo Hotel. Our meeting point is a 5-minute walk from those hotels.

Note: If you book within 24 hours of the tour/excursion departure time, we can arrange hotel pickup with additional charges if you are not at the Caño Hondo hotels. Once your purchase is complete, we will send you complete contact information (phone number, email address, etc.) for our local tour guide to arrange pickup arrangements.
